Depart for our overnight flight to Rome. Dinner And breakfast will be served on board.
Day 2 Rome Saturday April 26, 2014
Upon arrival in Rome, we are met by our local representative and transfer to our hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure. Tonight we enjoy dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 3 Rome Sunday April 27, 2014
After breakfast we depart for Vatican City to attend the Canonization of Blessed Pope John Paul II and Blessed Pope John XXIII. In the afternoon, we depart for a half-day of guided sightseeing in the "Eternal City." The highlights include visiting three major basilicas in Rome including St. Mary Major, dedicated to Our Lady, St. John Lateran, the Cathedral of Rome, and St. Paul Outside the Walls, built over the burial place of St. Paul. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 4 Rome Monday April 28, 2014
This morning we explore the wonders of ancient Rome. We begin with a view of Capitoline Hill and the Coliseum, an architectural wonder completed in 80 AD. We view the Arch of Constantine and the Circus Maximus and visit the archeological area of the Roman Forum. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure for sightseeing or shopping. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 5 Rome Tuesday April 29, 2014
This is a full day at leisure in Rome to relax, visit one of beautiful churches nearby or visit a museum. Or you may want to take an optional day trip to Assisi with supplemental cost. Transfer by bus to Assisi through Tuscany. When we arrive we will take a walking tour of Assisi to include St. Francis Basilica an church of St. Claire. Our last stop will be a visit to St. Mary of the Angels before we return to Rome for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 Rome Wednesday April 30, 2014
After breakfast we depart for Vatican City to attend a Papal Audience (if available). In the afternoon, we visit the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel, with Michelangelo's breathtaking frescoes. We conclude our visit with a tour of St. Peter's Basilica. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 7 Rome/Lisbon/Fatima Thursday May 1, 2014
Transfer to the airport for our flight to Lisbon. Arriving in Lisbon, we enjoy a brief panoramic tour of the charming Portuguese capital. See the fanciful Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the Monument to the Discoveries and (time permitting) the Basilica of St. Anthony. Continue to Fatima with a stop in Santarem to take in the Miracle of the Bleeding Host. In Fatima, on the evenings, if available, join in the moving Candlelight Rosary Procession beginning in the Chapel of the Apparitions (Capelinha). Overnight in Fatima.
Day 8 Fatima Friday May 2, 2014
We visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, starting at the pristine Basilica, with the tombs of Jacinta and Francisco, beatified in 2000, and Sr. Lucia. Continue to the Capelinha, where Our Lady appeared to the shepherd children. Light a candle near the shrine, walk the lovely grounds or shop for religious articles nearby. Discover the hamlet of Aljustrel, the shepherd children's home. Continue to Valinhos, where Our Lady appeared after the children's release from prison. Visit the church where they were baptized and the local cemetery. Take some time for private devotions before a video presentation on the history of Fatima. After dinner we can once again experience the Rosary Candlelight Procession. Overnight in Fatima.

Following breakfast we transfer to Lisbon’s Airport for our return flight, arriving the same day.
